How to Invite Heidi Swapp to Your Grad Party
I cannot even believe it! My second child is graduating this month. And guess what? She wanted a non-traditional florals and woodland and whimsical theme for her grad party.
And so of course. I had to invite Heidi Swapp and all kinds of Heidi Swapp goodness to the party.
Welcome to our Class of 2018 Graduation party. All floral and pink and simply fun.
Let me show you around so you can see how Heidi Swapp products are making this the sweetest party ever.
First up. Lightbox. And the new HandLettered Font plus Talking Animals Icons. That pink rabbit was a perfect little image to add to this whimsical party. It was the first thing that came together. When I showed it to my daughter she just smiled. I knew I had approval to move on with the vibe.
Next up was layers of banners and words. I used the Color Magic Jumbo Alphabet with Dots for the word banner. We decided to keep it white. It had a great pop against the Color Shine backdrop. I just punched holes in the letters and threaded them through with white twine.
Behind the ‘congrats’ can be found Color Magic Circles and Banners (all products are linked below). These pieces were sprayed with Color Shine. I used Pink and Coral. Keeping to just a few colors kept this theme cohesive and bright. I love how the banner sits against the ivy garland to add to this floral and woodsy party scene.
Another way to bring a woodland feel to this vignette was by using these wood rounds. I bring these out for many a party. (You may have seen them HERE in this little guy party vignette.) Also, a sprinkling of Sweet Tooth Fairy Sprinkles gave these cupcakes a crowning touch.
Cupcake cups were made with the Hawthorne pattern paper called Eden. The pink was a perfect little subtle touch with the rest of the colors found on the party table.
Marquee Love Numbers. A perennial favorite to any and all of my parties. I just so happened to find that moss at the dollar store! I know! Lucky me. Tucking this moss into these letters not only helps them stand out, but…you know..woodland party and moss…it just goes together.
I grabbed this Card and Envelope Organizer from the Silhouette Store. The B side to the Hawthorne Pattern Paper Ethereal is this oh so lovely wood grain. The paper was cut on my Silhouette and easily assembled. Now we have a cute place for the grad cards to be held as our guests arrive.
I like having word art around. This Art Screen is part of Heidi’s Mixed Media Collection. The You Are Here seemed a fitting expression for the occasion. My girl. She is here right now. We are reminiscing over the year’s activities and accomplishments. But this is also the starting place to the unknown and adventure that lies ahead. Ahhh. Deep breathe, mama. She’ll be OK. (Self talk constantly going on.)
And one way we are reminiscing is by way of photo displays. I plan to hang photo banners throughout the house. This gives guest a chance to move around and not all be huddled in one place checking out all the photos. I simply hung these pictures on some WeRMemoryKeepers Stitch Happy Thread. Each photo is attached to the thread with Hawthorne Washi Tape.
More word power is added with the Letterboard and Pink Serif Letters. And shouldn’t we be doing this always? Not just when we graduate?
So here is to a fun, pink, floral, and whimsical party. I think keeping this occasion festive keep the emotions at bay for me. Nah. Who am I kidding? I’m simply proud of this girl and her guiding values and I know this is just the beginning of the next chapter in her life. This party is just about having friends and family gather and mark this special day.
My hope, as always, is that you gathered some inspiration for your next party. Graduation or otherwise.
