How to Make a DIY Travel Notebook
Who else loves planners and stationery supplies? I love pens, pencils, planners, washi tape, paper clips – why don’t you just leave me in the stationery department and come back to get me when the grocery shopping is done! Who GETS me?! One of the reasons why I love them so much is because the supplies I use and own are an extension of my personality. Every planner I own inspires me. All the supplies I use daily are the colors and designs I love!
This is one of the reasons why I love to create my own notebooks! Customizing my own stationery supplies is creating something I can enjoy daily!
Here is how to create your own DIY Travel Notebook.
1 12×12 Double Sided Pattern Paper
Black Elastic Cording
We R Memory Keepers Crop N Dile
1 Piece of Craft Foam (Optional – Adhesive Backed)
Heidi Swapp Fresh Start Storybook
Cut your pattern paper to 7 3/4″ x 9 1/4″.
Cut your foam to size. Optional, cut your foam slightly smaller so it will not interfere with cover opening and closing.
Fold both in half and if your craft foam is not adhesive backed, adhere the foam to the inside cover with adhesive.
Punch holes along the folded crease at 1/4″, 3/4″, 7″ 7 1/2″
Punch hole on left side 2 1/4″ x 4″ (from the top)
To assemble, thread 7″ of cording to the back of the cover. Tie a wooden bead on the inside so the cording stays in place.
Thread cording through the front of the notebook and tie on the inside making sure it will hold the Storybook. Then, tie a knot.
The Storybooks slide in and out, so you can hold whatever insert you need!
I can’t wait to make more of these with my favorite papers for summer travel mini books, church note taking, prayer/gratitude journals, and more!
You can find Heidi Swapp’s Hawthorne and Fresh Start collection at your local Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store.
