Journal Studio | Memory Keeping in a Travel Journal
Hello everyone and happiest Thursday!
Today I want to share a little bit of my heart space with you and a project that I have been working on that is just making me happy right now.
It’s a little collaborative effort between my Heidi Swapp Journal Studio stash and the Heidi Swapp Emerson Lane collection.
And let me just tell you they are working brilliantly together!
I love working in a notebook style system because it is just a lot of fun!
It is smaller, compact and just makes for an overall beautiful treasure of a keepsake.
Just flipping through what I have started makes me so happy and reflective on the little moments I have photographs of.
I just love the eclectic nature a notebook allows for.
A great tip when creating scrapbook spread type layouts in a notebook is adding in pattern paper as a base. I used papers from the Emerson Lane Paper Pad to create the bases of all of my pages. I have to say that paper pads I find are the best to use for this type of project. I love using them because they are single sided papers. That way when you add them into your books you do not have to worry about covering up (or wasting) the other side of the paper. Since it is blank these papers work best for incorporating them into notebooks and journals like I did for this project.
I also find adding in patterned paper makes the notebook pages a bit more of a solid sturdy surface to work on.
It is also a great way to add variety in when most notebooks are just white pages. And sometimes just plain white can be intimidating.
This is also a great way to use up pattern paper from your stash!
Ephemera pieces also add such beautiful detail and dimension onto notebook pages.
I loved adding in envelopes, photo frames and dies using dimensional adhesive pop dots.
Simple, fun and just so pretty for story telling with your photos!
Alphabet stickers are also such a fun element to incorporate inside a notebook. I loved using them to create this simple eye catching title to compliment my photo spread.
Journaling stickers are also great for notebooks, especially when added onto pattern paper. I loved using my Typecast to jot down this little memory.
These beautiful die cut pieces are also a great addition. They are so detailed and delicate. They look great layered onto a piece of pattern paper. They also add in just that perfect amount of texture and dimension for a notebook spread.
As always…washi tape is always a win!
These delicate gold alpha washi alphabets are a great way to add in a title and washi tape always serves as gorgeous finishing detail for any page!
Collabing these two collections together is such a fun creative project! I cannot wait to finish up this entire notebook with photos, notes and memories! My goal is stop finish it up soon so be on the look out for that…coming soon!
I really encourage you to play inside a Journal Studio Notebook. They are filled with so much creative possibility and potential and make such a treasured keepsake. Trust me when I say how fun they are to hold and flip through once they are filled with “all the stuff”!
Happy creating friends!
