memory dex tray + instax = wow!
Do you ever go through the camera roll on your phone and find some favorite photos that bring back your favorite memories! I do and I wanted a way to make these memories more permanent so I grabbed my iPhone, my Fuji Film Instax Printer and the brand new Memory Dex tray from the Insta Love collection available now at Michaels and got to work.
What resulted was a pretty Memory Dex tray filled to the brim with precious stories and photos of my family and friends. It sits on my table in my studio and I find myself flipping through the cards and smiling to myself. This project is filled with all the things that I love! And the best part about it is that as the year goes on I can so easily add to the tray when ever the feeling strikes.
I love how it sits on my table ready to be added to!
The layers and textures just make it a fun project to have on my desk.
I love that different sizes and shapes can be incorporated into the tray to add interest.
Let’s start with the front card. I used one of the cards that comes with the tray and added that glitter chipboard speech bubble from my Project Life stashI then layered over some washi from the yellow washi pack and stapled those gorgeous paper flowers that I had spritzed with Butter Colorshine.
It is just so pretty.
Next I took another of the Memory Dex cards that comes in the tray and added that sheer sticker from the Memory Planner collection and that gold arrow sticker from the new Instax collection.
I wanted to celebrate my family so I used that die cut 4 from my stash and wrapped the bottom half of it with the washi from the Yellow washi collection.
Such a quick and easy way to embellish a die cut.
Another card from the tray , I layered my Instax photo under that yellow instax frame then added some of the Gold stickers from the new Gold sticker pack.
For this card I used one of the Instax glitter frames over my photo and used my tiny attacher to adhere that Gold foil sticker from the new Instax collection.
My boys spend a lot of their time drawing, their current obsession is dinosaurs so I grabbed some of the lined Memory Dex cards that come in the collection and asked them to draw their favorite dinosaur.
I then simply popped them into my tray.
This card I just splashed with some of the Butter Colorshine and added it to my memory dex
For this card I added my photo with my Tiny attacher then layered on some of the gold stickers from the Gold sticker book.
I wanted to add a homemade feel to my Memory Dex tray so I grabbed some of the new Mint Texture Paste and Word stencil from the Gallery Wall collection and one of the Lined cards and created my own card. At the end of my post you will find a quick and easy step x step on how to create your own card for your tray.
I added a favorite photo by simply trimming it to 4×4 square then using my Memory Dex punch to add holes in the bottom.
I think this might be my favorite card in the tray. It’s not often I get to be all girly at my house so when I bought these silk florals recently and displayed them in my studio I had to get a photo. I adhered the photo to the back of one of the cards that comes in the tray then layered over the gold stickers and finished off with some stamping using some clear stamps from my stash. I finished the card with some splashes of colorshine.
For this card I trimmed one of the 4×6 Project Life cards to 4×4 and used the Memory Dex punch to add holes at the bottom. I adhered the photo to the card then added some of the washi from the Grey Washi box and stickers from the new Stickers booklets available at Michaels.
A fun element to any project is a shaker box and it is so easy now with these pre made shaker pockets from the Insta Love collection. Add a few of the gold stickers to the front of the photo, then simply pop in your photo and pour in the sequins that comes in the pack.I then adhered the shaker pocket to my Memory Dex card and finished off with more of the gold stickers.
My final card to share today is a favorite photo taken recently on Mothers day of my boys at the beach. They were having such a fun time laughing and splashing each other I couldn’t help but at the photo to the Laugh card. I added som stamping and layered over those stickers to finish.
Let me share how I made my textured Memory Dex card.
1- Gather your supplies, – word stencil, texture paste, scraper, lined card
2- Lay your word stencil over the card choosing words from the stencil to help tell the story of the card.
3- Squeeze some of the Mint Texture paste onto your stencil at the top of where your card is laying underneath.
4- Using the scraper spread the texture paste over the stencil covering the whole card.
5- Carefully lift the stencil off the card and wash immediately in warm water. Allow the texture paste to dry completely.
6- Embellish your card with stickers and clips and add it to your Memory Dex tray.
Let me share all my cards spread out, almost just as pretty as they are sitting in the tray!
I hope I have shared a few fun and easy ideas for you to get started on your own memories today .
