memory keeping honeymoon album made easy!
I don’t think I have been more inspired to share a project here on Heidi’s blog than today!
Heidi has just released a brand new Memory Keeping collection available exclusively at Michaels. The collection is full of Themed Books, Memory planners and Time capsule albums to help simplify your memory keeping! I’m here to share one of the Memory Themed books- the Adventure Awaits travel book. What is so unique about these books is that they are preassembled pages that requires you to just slip your photos into the paper pocket and add your journalling and a few embellishments and your album is complete!
Its an incredible way to simplify your memory keeping!
Let me share with you some of my most favorite memories from my honeymoon. 11 years ago we travelled from Sydney Australia to the Cook Islands for 7 beautiful days in the sun then headed to the beautiful Canadian Rockie Mountains, New York and the East coast of Canada! I have never created a full honeymoon album and when I received this Adventure Awaits book I knew exactly what I was going to use it for!
I printed off 25 of my most favorite photos from our trip, slipped them into my album and spent a couple hours adding my journalling and embellishments. Thats all it took to create this beautiful keepsake! The easiest and simplest way to record my memories! Once I was finished I tied some ribbon from my stash around my Travel book to keep it together. I love that all my favorite photos and memories from my honeymoon are in one place.
Along with the Travel theme book I used one of the fun new Embellishment kits to add that extra pop of color to my book! I used the Memory Planner Embellishment kit as the colors were prefect for my photos! You can see below the gorgeous goodies in the kit!
I’m going to share some of my favorite pages with you all, be prepared to be amazed at how quick and easy it is!
Once I slipped my photo into the pocket I added a touch of washi and one of the clear stickers from the Embellishment kit!
On the left page, I added my journaling, one of the stickers that comes with the Travel theme book and a few extra pieces from my stash.
The washi patterns that comes in the Embellishment kit are so cute, I couldn’t help but use one on the corner of my photo.
We took a beautiful overnight train ride to Jasper to begin our Rockie Mountain adventure. I love that the 3 x 3 card in the embellishment kit was the perfect match for my husbands shirt.
I combined the clear stickers, stamps and that gorgeous watercolor floral sticker from the embellishment kit to easily embellish my page.
The card which I scored on the left and added adhesive to acts as a fun liftable edition to my page.
I added some splashes of black Colorshine and some punched glitter snow flakes to embellish my page.
This might be my favorite page in my book. I used my word stencil and Mint metallic texture paste from the Gallery Wall collection to create a bit of texture on my page.
I scraped some left over texture paste onto the photo page to draw the two pages together.
The Thickness of the paper in the book is perfect to hold the texture paste. There is no buckling or wrinkling of the pages!
I just love the softness it brings to my album.
I was so excited to visit a traditional Indian ranch when we arrived in Calgary, it was bitterly cold so I punched a snowflake from my Gallery Wall paper pad and adhered it to my page. I then added one of the fun gold clips to the side of my album.
Under the photo I mixed the clear stickers and the fun new Clear stamps to embellish my page. So simple but so effective!
We hit the Big Apple and went immediately to Time Square! I wanted this gorgeous photo to be the star of the page so I embellished it simply with some of the gold glitter letter stickers from the Embellishment kit and a star punched from my paper pad from the Gallery wall collection.
The clear Love Today sticker was the perfect way to complete the page.
On this page I shared two photos of our favorite meals in NY. I slipped one into the paper pocket and the second I added some washi to the top of the photo to act as a flap.
Under my photo I added in my journalling, finishing off with some of the glitter stickers and more stamps from the Embellishment kit!
I dug into my vintage Heidi stash and found these gorgeous clear letter stamps for my journalling page. On the right I added in a couple of the clear stickers and repeatedly stamped the Happy Note stamp
I spelt out my title for the page with the stamps then added in one of the clear word stickers from the travel book kit and that gorgeous watercolor floral sticker from the Embellishment kit.
I added a little fun flap to my page by scoring down the left side of the card from the Embellishment kit, adding some adhesive and adding it to my page.
Here I added some more splashes of black Colorshine to add interest to my page.
On the photo page I added some clear stickers to the edge of the page and trimmed some washi from my stash into a banner then stapled it to my page.
The photo lifts up to the reveal some more journalling.
One highlight of our trip was a visit to Niagara Falls. I wanted to create a soft feeling to my page so I used one of the watercolor words and sprayed it with some of Mint Colorshine with an ombre effect. I hit it with my heat gun and adhered it to my page.
I added my journalling in and around the watercolour word!
I recently shared my unboxing video and a few of my pages in the following video.
I love my little album, it sits pride of place on my living room shelf, full to the brim with treasured memories of the start of my husband’s and my life together!
