midnight thurs

midnight thurs

i don’t know where the time goes…
i am tired! it’s been a busy day… and there is another busy day tomorrow!
i did get a pedicure this morning! and i REALLY needed one… and i REALLY like the color i picked. don’t you hate it when you go out on a limb to try a new color and then you hate it? i really like it. no idea what it is.  makes a world of difference on my swollen feet! LOL!
i had a dr. appt today. those visits are serioulsy 3 minutes. – wait in the office for 40, and see the dr. for 3. love that. 33 weeks… measuring just right! so that is good!
then cory had his first official ‘swim meet’. he was SO excited to finally get to RACE! he did great… took 4th in both his heats. he was thrilled! it’s really dang hot to sit there and watch!

tonight i have been preparing for the events of tomorrow!
first thing, i am appearing on ‘good morning arizona’… i will be appearing every friday as long as i can. i believe my segment is at 8:45am.  they have me promoting the website … mysweetconnection.com
it’s a local website that i post ideas and stuff on… live tv is a little stressful! last week when i was on, i was showing the little iron and iron on’s onto albums… well, i spelled the word wrong! NICE! that is so typical of me!   then there is the fact that i am preg, and deciding what to wear on is a big pain!! and next to Tara Hitchcock the host… i look giant!  but it’s fun!  Tara is seriously so cool in real life! it’s a great show.
after that… i need to rush home and get ready for the baby shower that i am having here tomorrow afternoon! one of my good friends just adopted a baby last week! she has been trying to have a baby herself for years… and kind of out of the blue (and answering years of prayer) they got a call from her husband’s niece (not married) who was 7 months pregnant and asked them if they wanted her baby. it has been the coolest thing to watch, and hear about and the happiest thing to see my friend with her precious new baby! i am so proud of that young mom for making that ULTRA difficult decision. i have been amazed hearing the stories, and the ups and downs of getting this baby into my friend’s arms. it’s all worked out so beautifully! but not without so much anxiety, faith, hope and love. on all parties involved. adoption is an awesome thing.  so… that is so fun to have going on tomorrow! i will have to post some pictures!

speaking of babies…
i think that i mentioned that not only did my little sister Katie have a new baby in March, but also, my sister-in-law, Kiley, (eric’s brother’s wife) had a baby in May!  both girls.  yesterday i had the opportunity to photograph my niece Chloe.  i am SO out of practice… and practice is SO important in photography. so i was nervous. plus-i was afraid she was going to cry the whole time.
i took the photos outside, and i am not too sure about the settings… (alannah… we need to have a settings conversation!) but she was so calm and so sweet for her photos… she is absolutely beautiful!

this photo is one of those…
that make you remember… just for a minute.
even if it’s been awhile.
how beautiful babies are. what miracles they are.
i love it.

in general, chloe is a litte fussy when i am around! so i was delighted when she sat completely still… she was actually quite serious about her photo shoot…
so cute.
my kids are just loving these new little additions to our family! it’s going to be so fun to bring one home to our house!
yikes… i am tired.

Even at your hugest you are so darn cute AND adorable I can’t believe the show’s hostess looked better than you! How incredibly brave of you to commit to anything this late in the pregnancy game – to say nothing of hostessing CE so close to your due date. Yikes! You must eat VERY healthy food!
Such a blessing to hear about the adoption. Godspeed to everyone involved, how incredible for that baby to be born into a life where so many people already love him/her. And the birth mother is so brave, and so honorable…what an inspiration.
Get some SLEEP! You are a creatin’, mommin’ machine, and even machines need down time!

This isn’t really related to your post, but I am curious to see if you will be at any of the SB stores in AZ during July 8-21, Keepsake Trends in Suprise AZ, Scrap Therapy in Goodyear AZ, The Creative Quest in Glendale AZ, Scrap Happy Sisters in Glendale AZ, or Scrapbook Attic in Peoria AZ. I will be in AZ for those two weeks and I know you visit SB stores in AZ sometimes, and was hoping maybe I’d catch you while I’m out there!

I have three beautiful children born in South Korea, brought to my husband and I through the miracle of adoption. Your friend is very blessed. And how fortunate she is to have friends like you to host a baby shower to celebrate the arrival of her little one. I’m sure she and her husband would love dinners brought to them the first weeks home — just a hint for other friends of hers — adoptive families sometimes miss out on many of the “perks” that more often are extended to families who have children who are born to them. Thank you Heidi for your warm and sensitive statements about this beautiful way to create a family.

I have a girlfriend downunder that has been trying to adopt via intercountry adoption. Talkabout getting the run around. They don’t mind taking your money though. Part of the criteria for the adoption was to do a life book for the child. My friend had no idea how to scrapbook so she asked me. I managed to do a 29 page layout in 2 weeks. Unfortunately we are still waiting to hear whether or not her application has been successful.
