minc it monday | champagne foiled wreath
Did you know that every Monday here on Heidi’s blog is Minc It Monday? And today is Monday! And I am foiling all the leaves today.
I have wanted to make a paper leaf wreath for a little bit now. Just the whole feel of autumn here in the States is in the air, and it really turns on the home decor girl in me.
Today I will share all the details and techniques for foiling die cut leaves. It helps to gather a few supplies first. Here’s what I used:
watercolor die cut leaves
Reactive Mist, Paint, and Art Screen Ink
Minc Art Screens
Heidi Swapp Minc Paint Brushes
craft mat
wipes
paper towel
scissors
washi tape
heat gun – optional
Minc Reactive Mediums are the stars of this show. Oh…and that Champagne Foil…so beautiful. It’s just one of those projects that makes itself so pretty all on it’s own. All are now available at JoAnn Stores.
Let me walk you through all the details right here in this video.
The results are so pretty.
Lots of leaves were die cut, painted, misted or screen printed, and given plenty of time to dry before foiling with the Minc Machine.
To create the wreath, I up cycled a previously used wicker wreath. The leaves were slightly folded in the center to give them some bend. Hot glue like crazy all over the wreath layering the leaves over another until I was happy with the placement.
I tucked a few glitter leaves randomly. Just for a bit of texture difference.
The results make for a beautiful paper leaf wreath. Change the foil color. Change the shapes. Make it your own. And enjoy foiling all the things.
