MINC it Monday | DIY Candy Boxes
As soon as I am in a grocery store and see the candy corn, I know that Fall has officially arrived. Halloween treats are so much fun when they are customized to fit any party theme! I love creating these pillow treat boxes for classroom, harvest, or Halloween parties. I will even keep a few in my purse during the season just in case I see a way I do a random act of kindness!
It is easy to create your own tags for Halloween! Gather your favorite images from the internet. There are free images you might like but I always find cute digital designs from designers (see link below in supply list) and pay for the quality! You don’t need Photoshop or a die cutting system to use these. Just drag and drop the design in a word processing program and resize the PNG file. Then print on white cardstock with your laser printer.
After punching out my designs with a circle punch I foiled the designs with Orange Minc Reactive Foil in the Minc Foil Applicator Machine. Then I backed each circle with a black punched scallop circle.
My favorite way to create Pillow Boxes is with the We R Memory Keepers Punch Board! In minutes you have a dozen boxes to give out. My favorite size starts with a 6×6 piece of pattern paper, like this one from the Magnolia Jane collection.
Follow the directions printed right on the Punch Board or follow the video below.
Fold the box and glue the edges. Tie it with string or tulle like I have done here.
With the Minc, you can make a simple box into something unique and special for any time of year! All supplies can be found at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.
