Minc it Monday – DIY Foiled Planner Tassels
I love adding a personal touch to my planner including charms, tassels and pom poms! For today’s Minc It Monday post, I wanted to share a fun way to foil leather or faux leather pieces in your Minc Foil Applicator Machine.

Cut your leather 2″ x 11″ with either your Cameo 3 or scissors. The Silhouette Leatherette papers cut like butter in the die cutting machine. If the leather is curling, run it through the Minc on a 0 heat setting. The machine will just press the leather flat.
Paint the ends with the Minc Reactive Paint on both sides and let dry completely.
Sandwich the leather with the foil making sure that the painted surfaces have foil facing up on both sides and is covered completely. Run it through the Minc in a transfer folder on a heat setting 2.
Snip one strip on the end to make a loop and glue it on to the inside of the end of the tassel. Using glue along the way, roll it lining up edges. As you roll, the tassel shape is formed and the loop is secured. Place a jump ring on the loop and add your choice of chain.
I love hanging mine on the inside rings and flipping it on to the outside of the planner. Now I can add any charms I want to dangle from the chain with extra jumprings to personalize it more! I hope this gives you some ideas to create your own planner embellishments with the Minc! For more Minc inspiration, check out Heidi Swapp’s video library here.
