MINC it Monday | DIY Splatter Background
Hello Monday! Hello March! Hello a brand new week! 🙂
Today I am excited to share a fun little trick I have been using with my Minc machine.
I love using all of the different Minc mediums, however sometimes I like to have a bit more “control” over what I am doing and creating.
For instance…creating a splatter background.
I LOVE how a splatter background looks…and especially when it is foiled. Hello! Amazingness.
The colors, vibrancy and dimension CANNOT be beat.
So today I am going to share with you how I use the Reactive Mist to gain more control over creating a splatter background page.
Instead of using the spray nozzle, I remove and instead use a fine tip paint brush for splatter application.
To do this lightly dip your paint brush into the reactive mist.
Taking your brush and your index finger lightly “tap” your brush allowing subtle droplets to fall. Repeat this motion wherever you would like the splatters to appear.
I love this technique because it allows me much more control over the amount, size and placement of the splatters.
Once your droplets are FULLY dried (very important they are dried completely) run your page with your desired color of foil through your Minc machine.
Tada!
Gorgeous Minc splatters! You can also take things one step further by adding more splatters onto your page once it is foiled. Then allow to fully dry, apply a different color of foil and run through your Minc again. This will allow you to achieve splatters in multiple colors.
To complete my page I chose to use these fabulous double sided alphabet stickers. They are the best because you can use these alphas with or without a Minc machine. Simply remove the top sticker and add your foil. Rub gently with your finger (or run through your Minc on heat setting 0 as all you are needing is pressure) and remove your foil.
They are such a wonderful alphabet set to create a large impactful title.
I completed my page with some of my favourite pieces from the Hawthorne collection.
I hope you enjoyed this fun little twist on using Minc Reactive Mist. It is a really fun and super easy technique!
Everything I shared here today is now available and can be found at JoAnn stores or JoAnn online!
Happiest Monday friends. Cheers to a creative week 🙂
