Minc It Monday| How to Create a Minc Swatch Book
Welcome to Minc It Monday once again.
here, and in today’s Minc It Monday edition I want to explore with you new Minc Foil colors, new techniques, and a way to collect that in one place for future reference.
Take a look above at my new to me Minc Swatch Book. Yep. I have to admit, I was inspired by Vicki Boutin. She keeps a swatch book for her texture paste. I said when I saw that: hey…I could need that for Minc Foil colors and techniques. Thus was born, my Minc Swatch Book.
I started by punching with a round paper punch the Minc Toner Paper from the Surface Pad. Once I punched those out then I foiled each one with one of the newest colors. I LOVE how this turned out. I loved seeing these colors and Minc patterns all in one place like this. Just this page to start was full of inspiration for me.
There is a Minc Process Video right HERE that takes you through this book. The next thing I added to my swatch book was inked images and the foil. You can see in that video how I used a mini brayer and the Toner Ink to stamp images on the smooth white cardstock. Then ran each of the different images through the Minc Machine to be able to see how each of those foils played with the ink and images.
One of my favorite surprises was how the Silver Stars played so beautifully with these BoBunny Butterfly Stamps. This turned out stunningly.
While I was adding the Minc Texture Paste to these 4×6-inch cardstock swatches, I realized too this is a great way to have a catalog of one’s stencils. So…I will be adding to this book so I can include all my stencils. Ah! I love any excuse to just have some paper play.
One of the techniques in the process video was a real time experiment with the Glue Pages from the Surface Pad. This is going to be a major tease. Cause you are going to have to watch the video to see how this came about. I am super excited about this new to me (and probably to you) technique.
OK…that’s today’s Minc It Monday Edition. Hope you are inspired to pull out those new foils and make your own swatch book. I can tell you, I have referred to that swatch book many times already. I love when an idea comes together and serves to only add to my creativity.
Hope you find the same.
