Down Under here in Australia we are heading into the new school year, likewise I know those in the Northern Hemisphere are returning for the next semester of school. I wanted to make a couple of gift survival packs for my son’s teachers as a small token of appreciation for the year ahead. I decided to make a little gift tag using my MINC and some pretty pattern paper from the Hawthorne paper pad. Let me share what I made and then a quick little how to as well as a chance to download the printable for FREE!
I used the stunning pink and gold Ombre Minc foil, it is my favorite.
It just makes me happy to see the shimmer and shine.
So let’s see how easy it is to make the gift tag.
Trim a piece of pattern paper the same size as copy paper. I used the Hayden pattern paper as the ledger design reminded me of school. Download the printable that you can find HERE! I love that there are two options- the start of a NEW SCHOOL YEAR and the start of a NEW SCHOOL SEMESTER!
Print it out using a laser print- please note it must be a laser printer, as the foil only works with the toner ink from laser printers or copy machines!
Choose your desired color foil and run it through your Minc machine.
Take the printable our of the carrier sheet and the gorgeous foiled printable is revealed.
Trim around the foiled border , punch a hole in the top and tie it to your gift basket with some ribbon.
In my basket I added, a notebook, bacterial wipes, tissues, hand sanitizer, hand cream, a water bottle, pencils, snack bars and some whiteboard markers. It looks so pretty all tied up with the ribbon and shimmering gift tag. Being a teacher myself I know my son’s teachers will appreciate it so much.
You can find the MINC, Foil and Hawthorne pattern paper at your local and online JOANN store!
