Welcome to another Minc it Monday ! I am thrilled to be sharing Heidi’s brand new collection Emerson Lane and showing off the fun Minc-able pieces that come in the Ephemera pack! Now let me back up a moment here…the Mincable pieces are perfect , yes I say perfect for your next Christmas layout! They are a gorgeous sheer vellum and when combined with the Gold and Pink and Teal and Silver Minc ombre foil they turn into instant Christmas ephemera! Let me share my layout first before I share how easy it is to foil the ephemera pieces!
You can see I started with that gorgeous citron and white striped pattern paper called Sweet Nothings as my base. I then trimmed down the Classic black and white striped pattern paper and added that fun reindeer cut file from Paige Evans that I cut on some white American Crafts cardstock. I used the Emerson Lane Heidi Thickers along the top of the cut file to form my title.
I then added my foiled ephemera pieces onto the decorative banners from the cut file. I used some brads from my stash and punched holes in each ephemera piece and then attached them to the cut file. I also used a star punch and the 6 x 6 paper pad to add a few more christmas decorations to the reindeer head.
I love the eclectic feel the ephemera and the foiling creates!
I added some of the washi alphabet stickers as well as stickers and more foiled ephemera and then my journaling to anchor the reindeer to the page.
I had an extra photo that didn’t fit into the design of my layout, so I used some of the washi tape from the Emerson Lane pack to act as a hinge. I then used one of the label stickers which I backed with some scrap cardstock to serve as a tag to enable the photo to lift up easily.
The photo lifts up to reveal another photo underneath.
So let me share how easy it is to foil the ephemera pieces.
Gather your chosen foil colors , I used both the pink and gold and silver and teal ombre foil and Emerson Lane ephemera.
Check the ephemera paper work that comes in the pack and take out the pieces that are able to be foiled.
Lay the pieces onto a carrier sheet then trim the foil to cover the ephemera.
Run the carrier sheet through the Minc on setting 3.
Once through, lift the foil to reveal the gorgeous foiling effects on the ephemera.
Add the pieces to your layout, if those pieces are some of the vellum ones be sure to use either a staple or brad to adhere them to avoid the adhesive showing through.
I love that I have created a Christmas layout with not a Christmas piece of pattern paper or ephemera in sight! Grab some of the Emerson Lane ephemera and your favorite Minc foil colors and get scrapping!
