mother's day cards – go funky or go sophisticated – with color magic!

mother's day cards – go funky or go sophisticated – with color magic!

Before I say another word… THANK YOU for the amazing BIRTHDAY wishes yesterday!  I had a fabulous day, and I felt SO loved! What a huge blessing! That is what a birthday should be! I am SO GLAD that calories don’t count on your birthday!! (or I’d be in big trouble)

Throughout April, we focused on Memory Files ….  so many fun, different INSPIRING ideas!  I LOVED seeing the projects come in each day, and I was so inspired by each and every one! I loved being able to share so many different styles as well! (big hugs to all the ladies who created those fabulous projects!)

Now that it’s MAY… I want to focus on another AMAZING element in my new line: COLOR MAGIC! Have you had a chance to play with it? it’s SO much fuN!  The Color Magic line up consists of  6 12×12 paper designs, 6 Memory file folders, Color Magic Alphas and Color Magic Banner delights. If you have never seen this in action, prepare to be amazed!!

mother’s day card ideas

Kim Arnold created two totally different looking cards using essentially the SAME supplies, but a different color. It’s SO COOL what a difference just the color makes.

Here’s what Kim says about these cards (Kim is from Australia, so be sure to read it in your best Aussie accent):

The Color Magic range is just so versatile.  I have essentially used the same papers to create two completely different styles of Mother’s Day cards.  These different looks are simply achieved by using different colored mists on the Color Magic Paper.  By using the blue mist, the card has a funky, fun vibe, whereas the gold antique colour spray makes for a more sophisticated card.  So simple and so effective!

For the blue card, I also added a further element to the Colour magic paper by masking off some polka dots using circles punched from an offcut of cardstock prior to misting.  This way, not only do you get the masked effect from the Color Magic Paper, but can add in your own additional elements.  I see a lot of potential with this for future projects.

Being Australian, we use Mum instead of Mom, so these are definitely authentically Aussie!

I must say that I love the fussy cutting of the ‘beautiful’ paper… I did notice that they are cut from the 6×6 Sugar Chic papers.. these would be great to mass produce in a variety of pretty colors and different patterns and even GIVE mom a set for mother’s day! would be a beautiful and thoughtful gift!!  Big Hugs Kim!! Love these cards!

Come back tomorrow for MORE Color Magic inspiration!
