My Memory Planner | April 2016
I was sitting watching TV the other night and it suddenly dawned on me that it was almost already the middle of May and I hadn’t yet scrapped our April!
YIKES!
So I jumped on my phone (aw, who am I kidding?…I was already on my phone…) and started putting together some photos to print. I do this all on my phone…it saves a TON of time and I can do it from anywhere!
After I’d printed out April’s pics (and a few of May’s, too), I pulled out my Memory Planner & got to work…
I usually finish the first page of the month at the end of the month. I like to jot down short synopsis of some of the major events…and I’ll usually include a few photos.
…these were from Snapchat. That face-swap filter is CAH-RAZY! And a little bit creepy…
I try not worry if I’m not completely filling my pages. Some days are just more interesting than others…and that’s OK!
The first week in April is when my kids had their Spring Break…so there was a bunch of stuff to document on these pages. I used the stickers from Heidi’s new InstaLove Collection as well as those that are part of some new Heidi Swapp sticker books that are available at Michaels.
Printing a bunch of photos together in a 4×6 grid makes documenting SUPER easy…plus it looks totally cool.
I also like to include emphemera in my Memory Planner…calendar pages (this one is from my daughter’s birthday), show programs & tickets, receipts, cards etc. usually find their way into my documenting.
On this page I really didn’t have that much to document…but I wanted to fill up the space. So I just used some of Heidi’s brand new Reactive Art Screen Ink (coming soon!) and the “insta[heart]” art screen to help decorate. A quick run through my Minc and now I have a gorgeous foiled page! Plus, that new Gunmetal foil is the BEST!
A few more embellishments, some more journaling & photos and my month was done! Seriously…I completed the entire month – start to finish – in maybe 3 hours…that includes editing & printing photos! And taking a few breaks to watch Veronica Mars…
I love that in just a relatively short amount of time I can scrap so many memories. Documenting our day-to-day in my Memory Planner has taken so much pressure off me to work in a bigger format and I’m actually able to keep up!
To learn more about my Memory Planner process, check out my new Big Picture Classes class – Everyday Memories. In this class I walk you through every step of how I document our everyday: Editing & Printing Photos, Journaling & Embellishing, Organization & Staying Motivated and a TON more! Really, if you’ve ever thought about using your Memory Planner to help you with your memory-keeping I urge you to check out my class.
Thanks so much for taking a peak at my April pages! And remember – there are no hard & fast rules when you’re documenting your family’s adventures – just have fun!
