Out of the Box Paper Christmas Houses
Christmas is my most favourite time of the year! One tradition we have in my family is a special Christmas party with friends every year. Being Summer the kids swim all day then settle down with a movie at night after going outside to see their Christmas Lights. It is always a highlight to go outside and I love hearing their squeals of delight! I needed to capture last years such event, so today I am sharing a little out of the box project in layout style!
I love my silhouette cameo, I love all the Christmas cuts in the design store but I was thinking…..what if you didn’t own a cameo? how else could you add a cut file to a layout?
Take a peak below and see if you can guess what I used!
Yes I used one of Heidi’s paper Christmas houses which come ready in their pack to be assembled into a 3d house to create a little Christmas village scene for your home decor!
I opened the packet, then trimmed off parts of the sides and I had my die cut house! I then added some Marquee Love glitter to the roof and some strips of paper to accentuate the roof and my house was done!
I dug into my stash and found that colourful pattern paper from the Maggie Holmes Carousel collection as my base and then layered over some white cardstock. I then adhered my house down to the white cardstock. The flamingo came from my stash of Crate paper Oasis chipboard and I just hand cut a Santa hat for her!
I used my Wr R Memory Keepers Deer head and some pattern paper from the Turn the Page collection from Paige Evans to add that cute decoration on the roof!
I found that Merry glitter word from my Christmas stash from a previous collection and layered it over the house.
I love the little doors that open so I created a little interactive element by trimming and adhering a clear Instax filler card inside the door!
I finished off with some splashes of colorshine to make my layout come together.
If you do not have a Silhouette cameo or die cutting machine be sure to think a little outside the box for your next layout, it is super fun and easy to do! The cute little paper houses can be found at your local or online store!
