Pineapple Crush | Summer Mini Album
Today I am here to share a project that plain and simple just made me feel HAPPY.
Sometimes returning to just the basics is what one needs. To just play, reflect, experiment and let that creative muscle do it’s thing!
Working with the Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush collection was truly the best creative therapy! It felt so good to create this project as it let me celebrate some of my favourite moments from these past few months all the while creating this super fun mini book with such a gorgeous collection.
I created my mini album using the “back to back binding” technique. Basically this is taking a sheet of paper, folding it in half and then taking another paper folding that one in half and adhering the white sides of the paper to one another to create ‘pages’. You simply keep adhering papers to one another until you have your desired thickness/number of pages.
I find paper pads are so awesome for making mini books of this style because they are only one sided so you don’t have to feel bad about covering up a gorgeous pattern! I used the Pineapple Crush Paper Pad to bring my album to life. Filled with the most gorgeous array of patterns it is truly the perfect companion for your summer memories.
It really was so much fun to play with all of these fabulous colors and patterns together.
That was simply this album for me. Fun and play.
Here is a walk through of my album. I will still continue to fill it with journaling and photos as the summer comes to a close. I loved adding in instax prints inside this album as it really gave it a fun summery throwback vibe.
I really enjoyed using cut files inside this album. Not only are they so fun to play with but it was a very easy and simple way to showcase the bright and bold patterns of this collection. I loved making this large title for the opening page.
On the left hand side I created this large envelope pocket. I will probably fill it with more photos (most likely regular 4×6 prints) as well as with a large tag of journaling.
As always ephemera packs are just the best!
So much fun to both layer and detail with.
I then began to fill up my album with Instax prints. I always love Instax prints at summer time!
I think I will go back once my entire album is complete this summer and add in date stamps to these photos.
More fun using cut files to create bold statement pieces inside my book. I love the vertical effect of this large text.
Seriously and how adorable is this flamingo puffy sticker??? Ahhh….give me all the mini puffy stickers. They are SO SO cute!
Another fun cut file (this one below, the ‘beautiful’ one above and ‘adventure'(coming below) are Paige Evans, the summer one is Jodie York from Silhouette store) backed with a fun green diagonal pattern.
I created this page by simply running vellum through my We R Memory Keepers Typecast typewriter (my FAV tool ever still to date) to add this message.
More fun Instax of our little summer adventures.
One of my favourite pages I think. I love how cute these alphabet stickers look!
My last page that I created just to create. Another fun bold cut file title with mix and matched paper pattern and cute embellishments. Total paper and creative play! I do not even think I will add a photo onto this page, I just love it as is!
I hope you all have been enjoying a blessed and beautiful summer. Thank you all for checking in today to see what we’ve been up to. I hope you are able to capture some of your memories (and enjoy your own creative play) using this beautiful collection. XO
