i am having “post-new york city-stress-disorder”.

i can’t get myself back in the game! i can’t focus… i am unmotivated. tired. behind on everything!
i did CLEAN MY CLOSET today. and put all HALLOWEEN DECOR AWAY! (yea- fun to get out; funner to PUT AWAY). WASHED my sheets… i LOVE clean sheets. and i did laundry, hit the grocery store and target…. and even with all that… i don’t feel like i got anywhere on my ‘to do’ list.
i did eat THAI tonight. such good food! ate at MINT THAI tonight. it’s on Gilbert/Baseline if you are ever in town! so yummy.

with halloween down…it only means ONE thing: time to start thinking about the christmas card. no ideas yet… so the brainstorming has begun. it’s what i enjoy most about christmas.
christmas time stresses me out. so a friend of mine challenged me to figure out a way to make christmas FUN. (is that possible?) i love what we celebrate… i don’t like how stressed it seems to make me. every year. (my anniversary is the 21st and eric’s birthday is the 22nd.. that adds to the stress too!) so…i am accepting the challenge. it probably won’t surprise you that i put off my christmas purchases until like christmas eve. (could that be causing the stress???????) i am such a ‘driven by deadlines’ girl… and fake deadlines don’t work… cause i know they are fake. hmmm.
so… i am also brainstorming about that.

the cooler weather is so awesome…i love to see the kids playing outside! colton got a basketball hoop for his birthday… so that has been so fun. they were even in the pool today… seems too cold for that to me! i think it was in like the low 80’s today! the cooler weather sure makes exercising more enjoyable. it’s a beautifiul time of year here in AZ!

i splurged and bought ‘bewitched’ on DVD… so i am going to watch that and scrapbook!
tomorrorw i am heading over to florida for a couple days… planning meeting… just can’t wait to fly back across the country! so i am going to stay up all night so i can sleep on the plane!

WHEW Girl! It made me tired just reading about everything you got done today…and you say that didn’t even make a dent in your TO DO list??! Holy smokes! Just take this whole holiday season task list one step at a time, stop occasionally to take a deep breath and remember the true “reason for the season”. You put so much love & thought into everything you do, I’m sure it will all be wonderful.

I know how you feel … you get days like that. (especially with 3 kids, i have 3 girls) I think of 5 things to be thankful for that day and usually even if they are tiny things it snaps me back to how great life is and that those things on my “to do” list are still gonna be there tomorrow. so now i’m going find some inspiration at my desk … enjoy your trip.

    Oh Heidi,
You crack me up. Cooler, in the 80s. It was in the 60s yesterday in Massachusetts and I LOVED it. 80 seems hot to me. I’ve not been to Arizona in the fall, but I was there in April one year. It was cold there in the mornings.
    Enjoy your trip to Florida.

Heidi you are so funny! Fake deadlines don’t fly in this house either. Have a blast in FL, and good luck on the Christmas cards. I decided to design mine digitally this year…

I know what hot weather is like after living in North West Australia. 118 was about the hottest it got to. Not overly pleasant! Much nicer now we’re back in the city.
Everyone always used to tease me about how I’d leave everything to the last minute and that I’d have to change when I had kids but now I have two and I haven’t changed a bit!
And I love it that way!!

WOW.. you’re going everywhere these days, Miss Heidi! I’m a planner so I wouldn’t know about the “last minute” stuff. I was planning on making my Christmas Cards this year, but I might be moving in the next month or so and because of that I decided to buy my cards this year. BUMMER.

My name is Michelle and I am from South Africa. Unfortunately I was not able to attend the university in JHB so was sorry to have missed your visit.
This year, some of my scrapbooking friends have decided to scrapbook Xmas decorations (there are 9 of us which means 9 decorations). It has to be a surprise and we will be going from house to house to hang the decoration on each others trees and staying and partying at the last house. We decided that an afternoon of fun and socialising, would be a great way to end off a great scrapbooking year.

Heidi you sound – to say a Kiwi saying – “knackered”!! I can’t imagine you being un-inspired you inspire everyone else with all your creativity, and reading your list of things to do it’s no wonder your “knackered”!!!

Have fun here in FL. Where will you be? If near me on the West coast (Clearwater/TampaBay area – give a shout out!) Great LSSs here too.
Also on the whole procrastination thing when it comes to the holidays and STRESS (that evil word) Challenge yourself this instead: Make a vow to purchase ONE gift a week between now and Christmas. You’ll be sooo suprised how much you’ll get down.
Sit down and on pretty pink paper with a favorite pen write who you need to buy for – keep that in your purse at ALL times between NOW and Christmas Eve. Be sure to cross off each person/purchase as to not double buy or gift. You’ll be psyched! Also PAY the kids to wrap presents to relatives and neighbors. They love doing it when it comes to money (50cents for small presents, 75 to 1.00 for med to lg, and 1.50+ for LARGER ones is the rate in my house). Now they try to out wrap and decorate each other too. Here’s to a No stress Christmas, anniversary and birthday. PERIOD

Which Tsubos did you get? I ordered the Saiph (lol, I think that’s the spelling) in pink and they RAWK!!! Absolutely LOVE them! You’re right, we can’t find them here. Check Fashion Square Nordstrom’s…they get them every once in awhile! Have a great trip to FL! Glad you had a great time in NYC and CKU-A! Now breath…and get those kids out of the pool! It’s COLD outside, Heidi! 🙂

Pick up a copy of Real Simple, lots of reader ideas to not stress out at the holiday season.
Check out these great SHE themed stamps, new from Cats life Press.
These should put in the mood to create!
    Have a nice day 🙂

    So Heidi,
Yesterday I put up my Christmas tree… well, one of them. But don’t be fooled, I am also driven by deadlines. The Christmas cards… well… I have 20 of them done, don’t let that fool you either, they were done from kits :oO Ahhh! Let us see the card when you get it done. What I do do last minute are my 4 6×6 albums I do every Christmas for family. Sometimes I am doing the last one Christmas Eve at midnight for the next day to open. Sometimes wrapping it Christmas morning after breakfast, LOL!
