reminders…
i think one of the things I love MOST about CE is all the things that I have to ‘remember’ CE! Whether it’s the little gifts people give me, or stuff I make, or the swag everyone loves to get and collect…it all adds so much to the whole thing! I have been needing to clean everything up, and put it away, and as I have been organizing and working on my own memory book, I took a few photos to include in my own ‘history’ of CE.
here are most of this year's buttons. i have collected all the buttons from every year, and i love them, and all the memories they hold. each year they really reflect the theme, and personality of that particular year.
i came home w/ a stash of wintergreen mints thanks to my sweet friend and counsel Leslie. i needed this photo in my CE memories! anyone who has taught or even volunteered at CE knows what this is all about!
at CE the more SPARKLY the better… from the Scissors to the watches…
and even the CUPS! check out this adorable cup holder the one and only Margie Romney-Aslett made for me! i love it… all the layers of glitter !
every year i have been given an amazing gift by all the individuals that participated in the 'charm swap'… this year, it was a little different because they gave them to me so i coudl see who made each one. these little mini-creations are amazing! so cooL! i loved opening them all up and studying each one! all so unique..
a couple weeks before the event, i was telling my good friend Liz Eaton about my 'speech' that i would be giving on Saturday night, as well as some of the things i was working on for the event… and she made me this amazing necklace to remind me of this year's event… i love Liz's jewellry-i have quite a collection! and all of it holds so much meaning to me.
some jewelry is just for fuN! and you buy it for a certain outfit, or an event… i am a huge lover of buying cheap, flashy jewelry at Forever 21! and then there is that jewerly that reminds. allows you to hold a little piece of that memory always! Liz sold some of her pieces at CE:
this last one is my favorite. i love it… she said i could give one away here on my blog… so if you want to check out Liz's Etsy shop you can go here…
and if you want to WIN this gorgeous necklace… leave a comment right here on my blog about what is 'worth it' today…

14 September, 2011 at 4:30 pmPicking up the kids at the high school is such a nightmare here as there is only one way in and one way out. My kiddos board to school so I don’t fight the traffic…. When the oldest called to say he needed his baseball glove to begin training today, I said yes, but in the back of my mind was regretting it. Long story short, it was so worth seeing the smile on my son’s face that I was there with mitt in hand ;)Happy about the little things that make my kids happy and know that I love them!

14 September, 2011 at 5:08 pmI teach in a juvenile hall and alot of times kids don’t really care about things. Today one of the boys offered to share his lunch with me – probably as a thank you for a mini-book project we’re working on (I sewed one of the CE flowers because we can’t have needles)…sharing lunch is a big deal because their food is measured out so everyone gets an equal portion and there aren’t any seconds. Worth it.

14 September, 2011 at 5:20 pmWhat is “worth it”? Every ounce of energy spent on my kids and husband – even when I think I’m all tapped out. Time goes by too quickly to be skimpy on the moments.

14 September, 2011 at 5:56 pmHaving children is worth it every day, even though sometimes they make you want to tear your hair out. I have learned this last year to hold every moment close as they are only with you for a short time.

14 September, 2011 at 6:20 pmWhen I saw this necklace I immediately thought of my sister and brother-in-law. After a series of struggles (deaths in the family and infertility) they decided to sell most of their possessions and travel the world, volunteering and travel blogging. Money and the corporate life weren’t worth it.
After a year in South America, they decided to get tattoos as inspiration for themselves. It is Vala La Pena – Spanish for “Worth It”.
She is a perfect match for this necklace.

14 September, 2011 at 7:40 pmWell any day is worth it… being a 5 year Breast Cancer Survivor.. you look at each and every day differently… But I think giving is more fun than receiving.. so if my number comes up.. Give it to my dear friend Bree Ross who couldn’t make CE this year! (I’ve got this years pins glued on my tote… and I got one of the coveted “I’d Swapp Heidi” Pins as well!!!)

14 September, 2011 at 8:18 pmFor me the boring mundane life of living, getting kids to school, cleaning, cooking normal chaoas of life is worth it today, you see a friend is in hospital having a bone marrow transplant and I am sure she wishes she had the everyday life, we sometimes all take for granted.

14 September, 2011 at 8:28 pmAll the moments that make up our day-that is “worth it” oh and reading your blog that is “worth it” I can always come here for inspiration!

14 September, 2011 at 9:03 pmI always want to leave comments and never can…so thanks for allowing comments for today. Beautiful jewelry for sure. What is “worth it”? Stopping what I am doing and taking the time to really listen to what your kids are saying is worth it. They are so profound sometimes and it can be easy to miss while checking Facebook or sending one short text.

14 September, 2011 at 9:24 pmIt is SO worth it to take the time to scrapbook and document the events and even the every day things in our life! hugs, Margie

14 September, 2011 at 9:29 pmtoday and each and every day before I get up @ 5am to cook my Juan and only’s lunch, each and every day but Sunday, I say out loud, “thank you Lord for allowing me to get up today”, to be me. to be what he calls me to be in the world, just being happy, making someone else’s life better today. Rising above, when society tries me knock me down, being a strong advocate for my son Andrew, being a very supportive mom to my gifted son Jesus, being there for my dramatic daughter, and know that she is taking the best care of my precious grandson, Cooper ryan.
That is what living means to me today, and that my friend, makes it all, “worth it”. Yippee!!!!! 🙂

15 September, 2011 at 4:34 amthat sounds like such an amazing experience. to be in one place with so many wonderful women of the craft. to be inspired by everything you see and hear. it must be like a mojo explosion. that is an enviable thing, but i won’t hate on ya! lol. because like all crafters you bring that inspiration back and share with the likes of me and others. one day. one day i will be able to do that. i hope 🙂 oh your friends jewelry rocks. love those dog tag like charms.

15 September, 2011 at 5:02 amAren’t those buttons the best! sadly, I lost the ones from this year 🙁
But i do have the ones from the past to love!
And what’s worth it to me…my family, my husband, children, parents, siblings, they are worth every day.
