saturday night

I am exhausted…
I know, I know… the blogging has been on the serious LACKING side! I am getting complaints! LOL!
I have been ‘away’… usually, it’s very difficult for me to go ‘away’. I am not really a good “vacationer”. I stress about being away, worry about what is going on; have a hard time relaxing and enjoying myself… and my mind is usually still ‘at work’. I am happy to report that this time- I really have been ‘away’.  I had been looking forward to this family vacation to UTAH for many reasons:
    1. still feels like home.
    2. COOLER weather
    3. 4th of JULY up at the CABIN in Oakley, UT- this is probably my favorite place on earth.  quite a contrast to NYC, my other favorite… but i don’t think that anything makes me happier than being here.

4. we had tickets to the RODEO in Oakely- it was the 71st annual Oakley Rodeo- and the first time i had been to the new ‘arena’… it’s getting so ‘big time’. seriously, has been a highlight of every year of my life.

5. we were going to take the kids to Lagoon

i love this place. my kids are true thrill seekers. they had a blast. i maintained the role of designated photographer… and frankly, it’s a little miserable watching everyone have so much fun, and you just watching…but they had an absolute blast!

6. I got to see my niece Aspen who has so rudely grown and is now 3 mo
    7. homemade peach icecream
    8. no internet service, no cell service at the cabin
    9. a whole week with my family
I had a wonderful, relaxing and delightful time!
Um… Lagoon is SO MUCH funner when you are NOT PREGNANT. As are all other above mentioned activities! However, I did get out of all kinds of things as well… and everyone was pretty much happy to just let me sit around and be a spectator (and hold Aspen).  We came home yesterday, and I have to say- it’s nice to sleep in your own bed.
Woke up this morning to the beautiful view out my bedroom window and headed down to Tucson. It’s about 2 hours south and em and I did 2 store visits down south!  We had so much fun today! I will admit, I am exhausted. We did the drill: demo’s and an on-the-spot scrapbook page… it really was fun! Fun groups of ladies… cute stores. It is so much fun to see the different looks and feels and personalities of each store.
I got home precisely 12 hours later and my family was waiting for me to go get ice cream. Sounded great to me! So we load up and head down to 31 flavors- and quincy says, ‘my tooth feels weird’…and all the sudden IT WAS OUT!!!

I THOUGHT I HAD ANOTHER YEAR before I lost  her baby teeth that are perfect and beautiful! She isn’t my baby any more!  I wasn’t even phased when the boys lost their teeth… but this is quincy we are talking about. My heart sank…she was THRILLED beyond belief! She was giddy with excitement. Colton noticed me telling Eric that I was not ready for her to loose teeth- and he quickly reminded me ‘don’t worry mom- you have another baby soon!’  sigh.  I can hardly believe it.  I didn’t even know it was LOOSE!  I am totally traumatized.

she hasn’t even started kindergarten yet.

I am going to bed. I have SO much to accomplish in the next week! i am looking forward to a wonderful sunday! i teach RS tomorrow… and the lesson is on keeping journals. right up my alley.

Hopefully everyone got the newsletter… it went out yesterday and showed off the 3 ‘water photo’ contest finalists… you will find that I need help choosing the WINNER, so be sure to vote for your favorite!
Ok, going to bed!

    Hi Heidi-
I know how you’re feeling. My little man just had his 10th birthday. He almost towers over me. But I still see him as my baby. So not ready for him to grow up!!
    When did that happen??
PS – Hope you got a good sleep!

I didn’t get the newsletter (just recently signed up). I tried to sign up again and it says I already did. How can I make sure I’m on the list to receive it? Is it print or online?
I love reading your blog and think the newsletter would be fun, too. Thanks!

isn’t it ironic how it goes with our “babies”? we can’t wait for each new day to watch them grow and learn, yet hitting pause would be just fine too, especially for those special moments. j

Bummer, I didn’t get the newsletter. I’ll have to go try and sign up again.
My grandparents used to have a cabin up in the Oakley area! I loved going there when I was a kid, 4-wheeling, all that stuff. I was so mad when they sold it! LOL.
Glad you had a nice, relaxing week!

Bless your heart, you are B-A-C-K!!! I’m SO VERY GLAD you got to have a family vacation…what wonderful fun!!! And I didn’t really mean to complain about updating your blog (*he-he*), it’s just I miss reading it when you are gone!! Please slow down a bit, and take time to rest…that baby is going to be in hyper mode when it’s born if you don’t get some rest! LOL So awesome that Quincy lost her tooth, but I know what you mean about losing their perfect little smiles…so hard to let them grow up! Hope the tooth fairy was extra good to her! ~smile~
Have a great week! Wish someone did something in Nebraska, we are so “out of it” here! Nowhere to take ANY kind of classes! The other ladies are SOOOOO LUCKY…

hey heidi–( I always want to call you ‘hide’ cause I have a cousin Heidi, and that’s what we call her..;)..)
Glad to be home but hard to return to the 100’s from the cool weather–esp. when pregnant, huh! I didn’t get the newsletter either, even though I did sign up–do they come out in batches?
When is baby due? Bet you can’t wait!
    Have a great week!

Looks like you guys had a great vacation but as all vacations are, they come to an end but even better you get to lay back in your own bed!

It was so fun meeting you on Saturday! I got so many great ideas to use even more of your products! I figure I must use something HS on at least 80% of my layouts.
My dh had to teach the same lesson yesterday and took my scrapbook of our son’s Make-a-Wish trip to the pickle factory as an example of creative journaling.
Thanks for the fun prize pack and for all the great ideas and the fabulous products!!

It was awesome being able to see how to use use your products and watch you in action. Thanks for all the great ideas. You are very talented.
I must admit I was not a fan per se before (I had only used your cardstock letters) but after Saturday I think I am hooked. I don’t think DH will be happy – LOL! But I sure will be. 🙂
I am looking forward to see what you come out with next!
