Saying Goodbye to 2021 with Heidi Swapp Care Free
Goodbye to the old. Hello to the new.
As I was gathering photos for this epic two-page spread, I was struck with all the story that 2021 has been. The idea of actually saying good bye to the year sort of struck hard in my throat. Saying good bye seems so final.
The going through each month and grabbing a highlight or two was actually more of a review. A highlight, if you will. It actually made me feel better to ‘review’ the year rather than say good bye to the year.
This double layout will hold place in the last of the Storyline Chapters Inserts that I have designated for 2021. Using the Care Free Project Pad it became super evident that the ‘celebrate every day’ die cut away should be a main part of this layout. The layout is mostly photos. There is a template for this 7 1/2 x 9 inch that you can find for free right HERE.
Going through each month of the year I sort of randomly picked out photos that gave me the feels for what was happening that month. I really did not over think this. Because really, you could over think this and put too much time into the picking out of photos. I chose not to and went with my heart on them all.
The left side of the page is all photos save for a center square that I left open to add in a few things. The pattern paper was cut same size as the photos (which are 1.4-inches square). The stickers came from the project pad and were popped up in the center with a pop dot. The ‘my life’ is actually just part of a tab sticker that is in the Project Pad. It was trimmed down like a journal strip to be the little mini title to the full-photo’d page. I really love having all these photos right here like this. Talk about a year in review.
On the right side page the photo template was cut in half. All said and done there were about 45 photos on these pages.
Above the template a piece of Care Free pattern paper was adhered to the card stock base. The ‘celebrate every day’ was layered over by adding a score line across the top and adhering to the page sort of like a card top.
Under that die cut flap I added in a quote card from the Project Pad along with a die cut flower sticker, a heart sticker, then a notched piece of paper. That little journal card flaps open as it is just adhered to the top with washi tape. The plan is to write some notes on my computer then print on vellum to add to this page.
I know you are here reading this because you love pretty stuff and story telling. I hope this layout of epic photo proportions will encourage you this year to continue to take those photos. Write that journaling and tell your story. All those little stories add up to a full year of life. A life well lived when you can see it after it is all said and done.
Happy New Year, friends. And keep telling your story.
