scrapbook with a sketch
Welcome to a fun new feature over here on the blog called Scrapbook with a sketch. I need to share truthfully I haven’t used a sketch in a long time and at first I thought oh no, but it literally took me 30 minutes to put this spread together because I didn’t have to think about the composition! I was guided by the placement and shapes in the sketch and it was so easy! I will definitely be using one again! Best of all you can play along too with the sketch!
Let me share more.
I started with my Storyline Chapters Scrapbook insert and some supplies from the Carefree collection. I used that gorgeous striped pattern paper from the Carefree Project pad as a base for my photos. I trimmed it and adhered it so it would go across the two pages in my notebook insert. I then adhered my 4×6 photo down in a similar position to the sketch.
I choose some of the stickers and ephemera from the Carefree collection to embellish the left side of the sketch and added some strip journaling that I typed on my typewriter to mimic the journaling strips from the sketch. So quick and easy!
On the right I added some circle stickers from the collection, one I lifted with pop dots to emulate the circles also from the sketch. The pop dots add some dimension and shadow to my layout.
Finally I added some washi tape also from the Carefree collection to the bottom of my photo to complete my layout as seen in the sketch.
I loved working with this sketch and you can find it HERE if you want to download and play along too! I really hope you do!
You can find the Carefree collection at JoAnn stores right now!
