Scrapbooking Is a Celebration
Scrapbooking is a celebration. Scrapbooking is creativity with a purpose. Scrapbooking traditionally and still is telling our stories.
I love this creative outlet. I love this opportunity that found me over two decades ago. I love that I now live my life watching for the story. For me that has deepened my life experiences. It’s not about FOMO, the fear of missing out. But rather this artistic life approach I believe causes a person to look for the moments more purposefully.
Maybe we should call it purpose driven creativity.
If you are a follower of Heidi’s blog, you may have caught on that I have been pretty purposeful with telling stories in the Storyline Chapters Inserts. I am telling weekly stories. And right here in this album, I am telling our summer stories.
I decided I needed to be very intentional with our summer. A pandemic will do that to you. While there are not a lot of places we can go, I decided early on we would as a group, or whoever was home, we would get outside.
Getting outside included the zoo when it opened and the Botanic Garden when it opened.
You know how after a happening your thoughts linger over the day and it becomes even that much more meaningful to you?
Yep. This is exactly what happened with our day at the Botanic Garden.
Not only was it a gorgeous day. Not only were the flowers in perfect form. But I was with people I love simply enjoying the beauty that life offers.
While I continued to linger on the memory, it came to me how I wanted to document the photos and the words. Did you guess it? Yep. Storyline Chapters and my Summer Insert in particular. I wanted all these memories to be in one place. And I wanted the vibe of summer and free time and discovery to be part of this album in particular.
While we can’t wish a pandemic and all that comes with it away, we can be intentional about how we make our memories. And then we can creatively tell our story.
