September Pages in My Memory Planner
Welcome to October! Can you believe we are only three months till the new year! I am so thrilled to have been keeping up with my Memory Planner this year. It is always such a treasure to look back on the year and what better way than through my Fresh Start Classic Memory Planner. Now do you spot the ‘Tell Your Story’ album? This album- also part of the Memory Planner collection holds the first 6 months of the year. My planner was getting so full of memories I had to take some of the pages from my Classic Memory Planner and house them in the Storage binder, It is just as pretty as my Planner and looks so pretty on my desk. Today I want to share the month of September with you…lets begin!
September for me started with Father’s Day. In Australia Father’s Day falls in the first weekend of September so I wanted to magnify the day literally with a large photo from the day. I printed off my photo at 8×10 and adhered it to the page. I love the bold statement it makes.
I then added a couple of small photos to help tell more of the story from the day. I love the large tropical washi that matches my beach photo perfectly!
Turning the page and you can find lots of photos from my son’s school camp. Being in Year 6 they took a flight to Canberra our nations capital for 5 days. Each night the teachers emailed through a few photos from their trip and I printed off a few to pop into my planner. I added stickers from some of the Fresh Start sticker booklets in and around the photo for some simple embellishing.
I printed off this special 4×6 photo of the group visiting the War Memorial. I then used a hole punch and slipped the photo into my planner. I added one of the Hawthorne clear words on top of the photo to add an extra touch.
On the right page I added in some more small photos as well as that fun QR code. The code links back to a video I uploaded to Youtube from our day out at a rocket launch.I love this interactive nature of the QR code, it really helps to tell more of the story.
For the following week I added in one of the Deck of Day stickers from the Boys Rule Storyline set. It compliments my photo of my son returning to Jujitzu perfectly. More of the bright pops of color throughout with strips of Washi from the Washi packs.
I added in an extra mini title” That’s Life” using the Stencil from the Fresh Start collection. I traced around the letters needed then colored them in with colored pencil.
More memories on the next double page spread. I love sharing stories about my family but also stories about my teaching. These stories all add to the make up of our lives.
Again I used The Memory Planner stencil and a colored pencil to add some extra interest to my page. I added one of the square stickers from the Planner sticker pack and some of that cute lemon washi for some extra pop of color.
I used another Storyline sticker this time from the Travel Deck Of Days set to complement this fun photo of a visit to a science centre.
On the right side I added extra photos by using some of the “Start today “washi to add a lift the flap element.
I just love knowing that all my family’s stories – both big and small are safely stored forever. I’ll never regret the time spent each week- printing, journaling and embellishing. It is so worth it!
Don’t forget you can find the Memory Planner and Storyline collections at your local Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft store.
