STORYLINE CHAPTERS I DIY ADVENT CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN

STORYLINE CHAPTERS I DIY ADVENT CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN

Hello everyone!  I am beyond excited to share today’s DIY project with you.  Mostly because I look forward to creating this project every single year.

DIY advent Christmas countdowns are truly a number one favourite of mine.

I love how they can truly become anything you want them to be, and this year I love how I was able to create the cutest countdown using non-traditional elements!

By non traditional, I mean using a ‘non christmas’ collection and transforming it into a festive decor piece.

This paper pad is a perfect choice for creating this countdown.  It is a variety of muted colours and subtle patterns perfect for a modern, yet contemporary farm house feel for my advent.

Another reason I love making this project is because it is very simple (literally anyone can do it) and uses minimal supplies!  All of the papers and embellishments I used to create my advent boxes are all from the Storyline Chapters 12×12 Project Pad. Every single one is found in this paper pad.  Awesome, right?!

With just one paper pad, I was able to create this entire project.  All 25 boxes.  PLUS embellishments.  Yep, there are even 2 sheets of stickers that coordinate with the papers too!

Now, as for the boxes themselves this is where the true creativity comes in.  I used an electronic cutting machine to cut out all of my paper boxes.  However, if you have a punch board, metal dies or other templates you can create all of your advent boxes with those too.  There are no limits as to what you can use to create your boxes…the choice is yours!

Here are the pyramid box templates before I folded them up on my workspace.

So do I have you intrigued yet?

To create your own advent countdown you will need just the following supplies:

Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters 12×12 Paper Pad

Dies, patterns or cut files to create your boxes ( I love to mix and match sizes and styles when creating my boxes to make it interesting and fun)

Hot glue gun

Ribbon or string

3-dimensional pop dots for adding on your countdown numbers (to create my numbers i just used my typewriter to type out the numbers and then a small circle punch to punch them out.  i then adhered them to each box using a 3-dimensional adhesive)

Once you have completed assembling your boxes and embellishing as you desire, they are ready to be filled with treats and enjoyed for the holiday season!

Isn’t this such a fun and easy project.  It would make a great weekend project to keep for yourself, use as a decor piece or even gift to someone!

Let the countdown begin!
