Storyline | How I Put my Layouts Together + a Video
Hello sweet folks!
Today I’m sharing a look at how I put together pretty much every Storyline layout I make…it’s really my basic formula for creating these quick & easy pages.
Here’s today’s page…
For this layout, I’ve used the following…
– Storyline Deck of Days: Girl Power
– Storyline Journaling Stickers: Pastel
– Hawthorne Acetate Words: Adventure
– Hawthorne Patterned Paper
– 12×12 Storyline background…available in refill sets or with every Storyline album.
All items available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores
I start every single one of these layouts by first going through my Deck of Days & Journaling Stickers sets and pulling out the pieces I think I may want to use.
Narrowing down my choices makes these SO MUCH EASIER for me.
Then I simply push things around on my paper until I find an arrangement I like.
Here’s a look at exactly how this particular layout came together…step by step.
And that’s it!
I did speed this video up…obviously…but the entire thing took me less than 20 minutes, start to finish.
That is probably my favorite thing about this fantastic collection…it’s just SO fast!
Here are some tips about what I did with this page:
*I turned my Storyline background -90 degrees so that the bottom edge was on the right-hand side.
*I added a strip of Hawthorne patterned paper over the original black stripe to accent the pinks I wanted to use.
*I cut down my photo corners and used them as chevron accents on my page (I do this with almost all of my Storyline layouts…I just love they way they look!)
*I don’t push my stickers down completely until I like their arrangement. You may remember from the video that I ended up moving a couple of them.
*I like to add doodled accents & lines to my pages to finish them off…you can see them better in these close-ups…
OH! One more thing I forgot to mention…
…I did go back after the video was finished and added some more photo corners (chevrons) and this phrase sticker. I thought the top of the layout needed a bit more balance with the bottom…and I really like the way this looks better.
Thank you so much for taking a look at my basic Storyline process!
I hope I’ve inspired you to print out some photos, grab your Storyline stuff, and get some of those stories down on paper…
