SUN CHASER I A STORY ON A SCRAPBOOK PAGE
As I scroll through my photos from last summer, it is really remarkable how I can instantly be taken aback simply by one or two photos.
The memories they trigger are priceless, and for that I am so grateful.
I remember it was late afternoon. The air was so thick and warm, and the sun perfectly beaming through the large spruce trees in our yard. It was the perfect day for running through the grass barefoot and jumping into bubbles.
I do not think there is anything more joyful, than catching ourselves lost in a moment. One that not only celebrates childhood…but brings me back to it. It is times like this, so simple yet so profound that I just find myself lost in the memory, in the story and just wanting to stay there for a bit. For myself most of my scrapbook pages represent this. Freezing a moment, a memory, a story onto a page that I can then instantly come back to and remember whenever I feel compelled and need to.
Sometimes pages do not lend themselves to huge stories. Sometimes they are just the safe haven to take the emotions we feel and land them onto a page with subtle details and pretty little notions that help celebrate that particular place in time. I adored using the Sun Chaser puffy stickers along with some of my favourite Heidi Swapp stamps to really pull the joy and whimsy I feel when I remember this moment.
The first step when it comes to beginning to scrapbook stories? Find and print that photo, or photos that immediately make you feel a feeling you never want to forget.
Pair them with some cute supplies and extras that add in that crafty creative joy. It really is a recipe for scrapbooking story telling success.
