sunny AZ!

sunny AZ!

72 degrees never felt so great to me as walking off the plane in my own hometown after a little visit to -18 Minneapolis. I have to say, AZ rocks this time of year…it’s gorgeous!
For those of you who guessed the ONE and ONLY Cathy Zielske is who was making me dinner… you were right! Could she be any cooler? She and Aiden picked me up from the airport, and took me to their home… a very cool, scenic drive through St.Paul. It’s as charming as can be! (cold, but charming). Cathy had been bragging to me about her amazing Manicotti… and she definitely delivered! Hello, she even MADE the pasta! It was delish, melt-in-your-mouth. It was so fun to see her home and experience her family dynamics in person. I always talk to her and her family over video conf. and see her projects through the low-res camera… seeing and visiting with them all in real life was such a treat! I love Cathy’s style- for all the reasons… I love how real she is. I love her passion. I love her parenting style and of course her oozing talent! THANKS for having me Zielske’s… I didn’t take my camera, so when she sends me some photos, I will post them. it was fun to see her kitchen makeover too… I just caught it on TV again, and she even showed me the scrapbook of the event! How lucky is she…it’s so awesome IRL.
I miss her BLOG… maybe if we all whine loud enough, she will start it up again!? What do you think? (c’mon ladies, let’s hear it!)
I went to the Mall of America. WOWSA. I was afraid I was going to get lost and miss my flight, so I tried to keep noting my position on the maps, so I kept my bearings… it is so amazing. I wished that I like had a list to check off. Get this, I didn’t purchase even one thing. I think I was feeling a little overwhelmed. See- this is what Christmas does to me! it’s overwhelming. I am laying low this weekend… my priority is to get a family photo for the Christmas card. It’s going to be black and white this year.
Tonight I am going to do some recreational scrapbooking. I cleaned out my fridge today, and went to the grocery store, so I deserve some scrapbook time! (cleaning out the fridge is my all-time least favorite thing to do)… (I still had thanksgiving left overs in there) (so gross)!  I need the creative therapy! We’ll see what happens…
Have a WONDERFUL weekend…

Glad you had a wonderful time! I can’t believe Cathy made the pasta; it must have been SOOO GOOD!
I had a laugh over the Thanksgiving leftovers!! I had actually stared at mine in the fridge today, and I figured I would have to throw them out on Sunday night, as garbage comes Monday. So glad to know I’m not the ONLY one who does this….ha!
Hope you have a great weekend!

MOA . . .I keep thinking I’ll make it there sometime! Sounds like you had a great visit with Cathy and crew (loved the blog . . . miss it!).
Christmas card photo shoot . . .I decided to make it easy on myself this year. I figured out a card where I could shoot each kid individually and then combine it into one print. So much easier with the goofy fake grins the 2 girls are doing right now!

I still have some Thanksgiving leftovers .. does that mean that I have to clean my refrigerator today? … Bummer! …
So glad you had a grand time with Ms. Z … I took her class in Atlanta .. I laughed so much! (and cried …)
You gotta get her to come to CE 07! … (Even if it is just in a student capacity! – Although as a key-note speaker she would really rock!)
I miss her blog so much that I still check the link every day even tho’ I get a “not found” message .. I just home someday that I will find her again!

As a MN resident, I couldn’t imagine Christmas with 72 degree weather. It’s better today- almost 50 is like heaven in MN during December. I’m glad you enjoyed MN even if it was a bit chilly for your liking. Hey, the cold weather gives us such a great excuse to stay indoors and SCRAP all winter.

It’s a great shame, because when I discovered Cathy, she cancelled her blog, so I never could see it.
    I’m very sad.
    As for Rhonna’s one too.
Why are you gone, les filles???
    I don’t understand!
    You’re so gifted!

My (so far) only visit to the US led me to the Mall of America. It was a promotion tour for travel agents and I basically spent 2 days there, took a sightseeing tour around Minneapolis and went back home. So in my dreams about the US I always imagine it a shopper’s paradise. Luckily next CHA I will come to see Anaheim. I’m so excited and hope that you’ll be there, too!

Yes, Cathy Z has to bring her blog back! Right before she took it down, she had posted the most amazing Neil Finn song and now Neil Finn, previously unknown to me, is my music obsession. C’mon Cathy you know a thing or two about music obsessions, don’tcha? And honestly, you owe it to rock-n-roll to bring your blog back. And I know you would never let rock-n-roll down….. 🙂

AZ weather is almost like Christmas in Australia. We hit 43 degrees celcius in Melbourne yesterday (that’s over 100 farenheit) so hot – I love it!
I miss Cathy’s blog too. I read it daily and now I find myself feeling a little unfulfilled each day. Please keep nagging 😀

It’s been way too long since I’ve been there. I do most of my shopping online, so when I hit MoA I make up for never going shopping.

And I can’t believe how cold it was in MN!! I think I would freeze. I love that CZ made some homemade pasta. I love making my own pasta too – there’s nothing like it. I’m jealous as I want CZ to make some manicotti for me! Actually I’d prefer if we cooked together!!! I sooo want a cooking buddy.
And I really miss her blog too – love her authenticity, her love for music (and technology), her simplicity in design. PLEASE, CZ, if you are reading this… BRING IT BACK!!! I MISS YOU!!
    Have fun scrapping tonight, H!!!

You are a breath of fresh air, I don’t know HOW you do it. You are amazing! Love the Pink Forest… can’t wait for upcoming ideas and events. Happy Holidays!

How nice you had a travel-op, Heidi! I won Cathy’s sequel book at CKUA and read it cover to cover – was an ardent blog fan – I loved her blog because she is such a broad person – she is into so many things I’ve never heard of before but still a scrapper. Would LOVE it if she’d hear our pleas and bring it back.
