The New Normal with Heidi Swapp Art Walk

Well 2020 hasn’t turned out the way we thought it was going to be! Being a Scrapbooker and Memory Keeper I wanted a way to express my feelings and gather my thoughts and record this moment in time. I was going to, and yes I still will add some of these memories into my Memory Planner but I also wanted to dedicate a special place. This moment in time is truly bigger than anyone could have imagined.  Enter my Storyline Chapters Scrapbooker insert and some of my favourite Art Walk pieces from the collection. This will be an on going project as the year unfolds but over the weekend I worked on a couple of pages in my insert. Luckily for me and for you all these pieces can be found online at JOANN stores now!

Let me share with you my pages so far.

As I mentioned I began with one of the Scrapbooker inserts from the Storyline Chapters collection. I wanted to created a dramatic opening page so I tore this stunning vellum sheet from the Art Walk Project Pad, trimmed it to size and then attached it to the first page in the notebook with some of the Art Walk Washi. I added my title with some of the Art Walk  Chipboard Thickers and strips of washi.

I love that the vellum is semi transparent and lifts up to reveal the extra title hidden underneath.

I created a second title again using the Art Walk collection Thickers and some of the stickers. I left it simple- white again white- to create an impact with the wording!

One of my pages I created was a memory of the new normal in my kindergarten class. Here in Australia our schools have not been closed as yet. We recently moved our tables and chairs into rows to allow for social distancing! I never ever thought I would be teaching kindergarten in rows! To create my page  I tore that green pattern paper out of the 6×8 paper pad and adhered it to the page. I then trimmed a piece of that bold black and white pattern paper from the Project pad to fit next to the green pattern paper, this fills the  whole of the width of the page.

I then added some of the Art Walk Chipboard Thickers, Stickers and Definition  stickers to complete my page. I love the design coming down the centre of my page. It really draws attention to the photo.

I will be adding stories, thoughts and photos into my Insert as the weeks and dare I say it- months go by. What will the year 2020 look like at the end. Only time will tell.

Don’t forget you can get all these goodies from JOANN online!

Stay safe, and stay Healthy!
