The Perfect Gift
Happy Monday everyone and welcome December.
Today I want to talk to you all about why the Memory Planner makes the perfect gift.
But…not in the way you may think.
I mean I could go on about how it is completely and utterly adorable (because it is). Or I could explain about how great of a deal it is cost wise (cause it is too). I could talk about all of the cute added in extras (because there are many) and I could even go on and on about the brand new planner layout (cause it is AWESOME)…BUT I won’t.
Instead, I want to talk about why it is the perfect gift for your heart, or someone else’s heart. The REAL deal about why it is just that incredible.
So, let’s just say life can really be incredible at times….and other times you just seem to hit bumps in the road. We all have been there…right?!? Well, for me personally the month of November was THAT month. Nothing serious or crazy thankfully…but just enough bumps to make me feel a bit derailed and off track.
I always know when I get to that point emotionally, that is when I really need to take a deep breath, step aside and refocus my mind on what I know is top priority and most important.
I don’t think that it was no coincidence that November’s divider page message was exactly that: “be stronger than your excuses”.
Often when I work in my Memory Planner it brings me back to the reason I started and fell in love with memory keeping and scrapbooking to begin with. It helps me to see my life before me.
Everything that I have staring right at me in the face saying “pay attention to me”…”this is what truly matters”. It helps me to refocus my attention on what I DO have versus everything that I am feeling I do not have. Having a place to just “let it all out” has such a healing power to it. Even on the days that I may not feel like I accomplished much I will go back and look in my Memory Planner to remind myself of the many little moments that were had, shared, enjoyed and experienced.
I do love that the new planner layout includes a larger format square grid calendar. TONS of room for notes, daily details, photos and fun extras. This alone just makes me so happy!
I just love this quote: “you get what you focus on…so focus on what you want”. Had to include that into my calendar spread this month.
Memory Planners have truly become the home to my memories. The home to my stories and favourites and everything in between. I decided to use my Memory Planner unconventionally this month. Instead of adding in my “day to day” on a weekly spread, I chose to create a large photo collage and some journaling. Basically photos and words to sum up the week vs. noting the day to day. I am loving this switch up and it was just what my heart was needing. A happy space full of reminders that bring me back to the headspace I need to be in.
The photo collage was extremely simple to create too. Because this large planner is 6×8 size, I simply created 2 photo collages on 4×6 cards and then just adhered them to the planner page. SUPER simple and sized to perfection. I then added in some of my personal favourites…like a Storyline Deck of Days card and a filler card from the Vintage Instax collection.
I loved this spread so much I decided to carry it on to the next page highlighting some treasured memories of my Brynn.
Something about photos and words that just make me so incredibly happy.
I have to say that this last page in the new Planner kits excites me the most! It is such a perfect way to wrap up a month of memories and moments. A top 10 list, highlight of the month, extra space for photos and notes…LOVE.
Looking back on a month that seemed so relentless, yet at the same time (when I actually see it unfold in my Memory Planner) the sense of gratitude and fulfillment I feel truly overwhelms my heart. THAT my friends is THE GIFT.
So in the spirit of the season of giving (and if you are looking for a gift for someone you know who would love a place to capture and celebrate their lives and memories) I truly recommend gifting a Memory Planner. Sometimes we all just need a safe place to release and be creative and celebrate all the tiny little victories that we accumulate with the passage of time. I think in life we also need to be reminded now and again of how amazing our “ordinary” lives truly are…and see it played back for ourselves. So whether it is for someone you love, or for yourself…Memory Planners really have the power to ‘gift’ all year long.
Wishing you all a beautiful week ahead.
