Heidi Swapp Art Walk

the yellow dress with art walk

Just over 12 months ago my family and I took the trip of a life time to Europe. While we were there I did a bit of shopping in Rome and bought this beautiful yellow dress. I wore the dress during a photo shoot we had at  our last stop Santorini and then the  story of the yellow dress took took a turn for the worse and the dress disappeared….def a story worth recording in my travel scrapbook. The colorful  Art Walk collection was the perfect way to create drama and color for my layout.

I created a 2 page spread with a large 12 x 12 photo and then a coordinating 12 x 12 layout on the left. The bold yellow pattern paper was the perfect way to make the yellow in my photos pop!

I added that label sticker from the Art Walk 6×12 sticker sheet and a Definition Sticker and then a couple of Color Fresh stickers to simply embellish my photo. I wanted to keep the photo the star of the page so kept my embellishments simple.

I then took that shabby chic pattern paper from Art Walk and layered three 3×4 photos across the center. I added them in a haphazard way to created movement across the page. I used one of the Art Walk corner sticker which I sanded to bring in the pop of pink.

I created my title using the yellow letter stickers from the Art Walk Project Pad, distressing them a little with some sand paper. I also added in some of the Art Walk Thickers to form some of my title as well.

I added that label from the 6×12 sticker sheet and then one of the White Embossed tags which I tore for added texture and then used some yellow ink from my stash to highlight the embossed writing. I added some strip journaling to complete my layout.

It is so easy to create a shabby chic feel to a layout using the gorgeous Art Walk collection which you can find at your local JoAnn store!
