the "h" word

the "h" word

So I decided that you can’t count holidays as Mondays, even when they fall on a Monday!
no way.
Yesterday was all about goofing off… I wish I would have had a better attitude, but I felt so lousy! I woke up with a headache and it never really went away. And the thrill of being out of school, added to the energy level and it’s ensuing chaos! There was no way Capri could nap cause she could just sense the excitement!  My poor cleaning lady I am sure was freaking out as all the kids were running in and out and all around… I think that there may have even been a  scooter shortcut created from the backdoor through the hallways to the garage door at one point.. but it was kind of a blur! I had to get the kids out of the house.  So we all loaded up and went to see a movie. The goal was to see Eragon at 1:55. We got there at like 1:45 after parking a mile or so away… only to get in and have the movie SOLD OUT. I wanted to die. I still couldn’t go home, and I couldn’t gear myself up for chucky cheeses or anything like that… so we killed time until the next showing by going to eric’s warehouse and letting the kids run and run and play hide and seek in there. SO we head back to the theater, and this time I don’t want to risk it so we get there and HOUR early. (I know- I am insane; mind you I did leave Capri with Emily, so she could at least take a nap!) and we buy treats to pass the time… all the kids go in the theater to save seats and I am left trying to carry all the stuff… which included 4 icees. I got all the way to the theater… and right inside the door, I dropped it all… splattering blue icee from here to next week. NIGHTMARE.  I was SO over it. and I think there was like still 45 minutes until the movie even started!
Deep breath.
After that, the kids were REALLY well behaved. They felt really bad.  LOL. Quincy kept telling me “mom, I feel really bad we didn’t help you”…
I said the “h” word.  Cory keeps reminding me.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie. I want to be a dragon rider.
So, I am claiming today as an honorary Monday.
I have done 4 loads of wash.
Planned some meals.
Changed some sheets.
Completed work for a deadline.
Paid bills online
And now I have to go workout.
But I think I am still recovering from the icee incident.

You poor thing, after all that, SPLAT. All you wanted to do was let out a loud SCREEEAM of release (but not in a public place). Then had to walk all the way back to the front, get a cleaning person and admit you have to make your purchase all again. You just tried to have a nice day. Here is a hug.

Sounds like me with my herd at the movies. Sometimes I feel like it’s not even worth it…except that if it’s a dorky kids movie, I take a nap. Ha! 🙂

I have 3 daughters all under the age of 4 and it’s just nice knowing I’m not the only one out there that has one of those days….But I am truly sorry that you had the icee incident. OH, bless your heart! I can just imagine how awful that was…thank goodness today’s another day!! Sounds like today is going better, too! Sometimes it takes some terrible incidents, to make us appreciate the good ones…glad the kids were sweet afterward. I’m sure they felt awful, too!
    {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to all of you!

There are lessons everywhere. The kids won’t think twice about volunteering next time and they learned a lesson there. I am sure blue Icee all over your shoes is pretty traumatizing though. Sorry about that part and the wasted money.

I am convinced that the “dropsies” as DH calls them are going around. I have dropped (and broken) 2 glasses, a Corelle salad plate (aren’t they supposed to be unbreakable?) and my favorite pink coffee mug just in the past 2 days! It has gotten so crazy in my kitchen that I have kept the vacuum cleaner plugged in and standing next to the lighthouse mural alongside my frig since last night so I won’t have to go out to the garage to get it and go through the hassle of plugging it in to pick up the shards.
Deep breathe, positive thoughts, new day…
    Love the AYTR class!!!

whats the “h” word – I can’t think of any bad words that start with “H” except hell and thats not too bad so if it’s hell don’t whip yourself to bad. Aren’t days like that the pits!!!! What holiday did you celebrate (I am from Australia and we don’t have any holidays until australia day on the 26th jan)

Heidi – See if your movie theatre lets you purchase your tickets on-line then all you have to do is pick them up when you get to the theatre – you can cut it real close and still park a mile away – kind of like Broadway, but only closer to home !!

I had one of those days too. Was at Walmart with my kids and had to go to the bathroom so bad, I didn’t even notice it was the men’s bathroom. My son came in to tell me half way through. Don’t think anyone saw me but my kids won’t let me forget it. Today is much better.

Heidi—I’m sooooo sorry but I had to laugh at your story because it is just SO SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE-ISH! You will probably look back and laugh in a few months…My incident to remember was when everyone ran into the house leaving me with the groceries–so not to be the NASTY mom, I decided to just grab all the bags and ended up dropping THREE SPAGETTI SAUCE jars onto the driveway–yes–they all exploded into a million pieces! (no, not the kids–the jars!) 😀 but the kids did feel bad for leaving me “holding the bags” hahaha! yes NOW I can laugh…oooooo but it was a bad scene….

Eragon was great- i hear if you read the book first that people are not liking it- so I am glad we did not read the book yet- I thought the movie was great and my 6 year old twins after the movie was over said “We are SO being Dragon Riders for Halloween”.

Gosh that is horrible! When I was on the airplane last month (on the way to our holiday destination) – I shut the bathroom door and the soda on the counter (next to the flight attendant) fell off the counter onto the ground and sprayed EVERYWHERE – UP 5 rows. Soaked the passengers, seats, floor! How do I know this – my poor DH was standing in the galley talking to the poor flight attendant holding my fussy child (age 1). I came out and everyone was looking at me, dripping. I had no idea that I shut the door hard enough to rattle the galley. The flight attendant and my DH got all the nasty looks though. DH and I giggle about it now…
I just tell my DH I have the clutz gene…
