Things To Add to Your Mini Album | Sun Chaser
More ideas for a mini album, Part 2
A few weeks back I shared some ideas for what to include in a mini album. You can find that post right HERE. These are not uber-over-the-top never before heard of ideas. If anything, these posts are a great little review. Maybe even some inspiration for you to get to that next mini album you have in your mind.
Let’s unpack just a few more ideas today.
The love for mini album is strong with this one. I have tons of them. And it never fails, if I dare to pick one up, I am sure to pause and take time and dive into that ‘mini’ story and remember. It’s like a gift one keeps giving to themselves.
One of the ways to make an easy statement on a mini album page is like I did in the image above: a grid page. This is, of course, a mini grid page. Dimensions here are 6×6, (a fantastic size for a mini album in my opinion). So I took photos and sized them down to 3×3 to fit this page. I love the impact. I love how each one tells a story, even without words. It’s just all good.
Another one of my favorite ways to add to a page is with a pocket. Lucky for us, Heidi Swapp’s Sun Chaser includes a set of vellum pockets with perfect sentiments. Inside is an included tag. Great space for ephemera, journaling, or, of course, even more photos. On the tag included with this vellum pocket I also attached a few die cuts cut from the Sun Chaser pattern paper. Which brings us to the next idea.
Die Cuts. This is a little preach I have going on almost anywhere I am posting: pre make the stuff. Pre-die cutting from your scraps of pattern paper is a great way to have additional embellishing fodder on hand. This way, you can just dive into the making. Find a way to keep this organized. I just use a glassine bag and keep the die cuts in the bag. Then, that bag stays stashed with my Sun Chaser embellishments. Now I have die cuts at the ready to add to the mini album…like I did above with the vellum pocket tag.
Ok…now…maybe this is really obvious. Then, maybe it’s not. Journaling. If we are going to be true to our story telling, well then, by golly, journaling has got to find a place on our mini album page. On a personal note, journaling is a very important part of my life. Not just on the mini album page. If we are not keeping notes, jotting down thoughts, recording times and dates, then we forget. Journaling (and dating) in my opinion is one of the best things you can add to a mini album. Scrapbook page. Planner spread. You get the idea.
I hope these posts inspire you to be creative in your mini albums. Just little reminders. Just a few reminders of what you too can easily add to your mini albums.
