trick or treat light up bucket
I love when I can combine my love of all things Heidi Swapp with my kids…. we have always loved crafting together and this year with all the fun Halloween goodies we couldn’t help but be at it again! My oldest decided he wanted to create a fun Halloween basket and I thought what better way than using the Pumpkin Tattoo- pumpkin face ! So with the help of him and a little help from my husband we made this cute light up trick or treat bucket!
I found this cute orange halloween bucket at a local dollar store and got to work. I love how the lights amplify the pumpkin face and come halloween night it is going to be such a cool effect as we go trick or treating
Let me share how easy it is to create the trick or treat light up bucket.
Gather your supplies- the Pumpkin Tattoo kit- pumpkin face, plastic trick or treat bucket, hand drill.
Start by laying the paper template onto the bucket and drilling holes with the hand drill. Remember to drill slowly so you don’t split the plastic. (As you can see the bucket I chose already had a small halloween pumpkin printed on it, no drama the tattoo covered it perfectly!)
Next take off the plastic covering of the tattoo, turn it over and lay it into position. Cover it with a wet cloth for about 20 seconds and the tattoo is transferred. (I actually cut the tattoo face into seperate pieces to better position it onto my bucket. Don’t be afraid to do the same to suit the shape of your bucket)
My son then helped me push the bulbs into the pre drilled holes.
and finally he strung the lights into the back of the bulbs.
The whole project took less than 20 minutes! A quick, easy and super fun halloween accessory to your costume!
He definitely can’t wait for Halloween now!
He is going to look super cool walking around the streets with his trick or treat bucket all lit up! Such a unique and fun way to get into the Halloween spirit don’t you think!
