Unique Wedding Gift with Storyline
I am headed to a wedding in a couple of weeks for some dear friends and I wanted to use my crafty skills to create a unique wedding gift for them. Being the memory keeper in our group of friends I decided to create a Storyline page that I would then frame for them using the Wedding Deck Of Days stickers that you can find at Michaels.
The bride loves the color purple so I decided to add small touches of purple into the design. I grabbed my Jane Davenport Magic Wand pencils and hand drew my title for another unique touch.’
I found a heart shape online and inserted it into my Silhouette Cameo and then traced and cut it out on a cardstock piece from one of the 12 x 12 Storyline albums. Once cut out I backed the heart with another piece of white cardstock and then machine stitched around the heart for an elegant touch.
I hand wrote my title with the purple pencil from Jane Davenport Magic Wand pencil set on the inside of my heart shape. I love that it is not perfect because I wanted my gift to be hand made and unique.
I then went through the Wedding Deck of Days cards and found the cards that spoke to me. I then bent up the cards to create a 3D effect. I used the join in the sticker on the back of the cards to guide my fold. I then adhered them around my heart, adding pop dots under the edges to ensure they stayed raised.
I then used a couple of stickers from the Heidi Swapp sticker book, also available at Michaels to add a couple of extra word elements around the page.
I love how layout turned out, elegant and simple. I added a white circle cardstock piece inside the heart as a photo mat for them to add their photo of choice.
I then framed my layout, the purple cardstock background was covered by the frame mat but there are still pops of purple around my layout. I cant wait for the wedding and for them to see my gift. I hope they love it!
