Using Stencils and Washi Tape in my Memory Planner
Maggie here with a look at a few things I’m using (a lot!) in my Memory Planner right now!
This year, I’m using the coil-bound Classic size Memory Planner available in THIS box kit.
NOTE: all of these (and more!) Memory Planner supplies are available at your local Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store & on joann.com
I ADORE this planner…it’s the perfect size for me and the daily stories I want to tell.
I love the coil binding, too!
Plus, it’s absolutely freaking beautiful.
And it comes with so many cute supplies!
If you follow me on Instagram (@maggiemassey), you may remember that I recently posted that I’m about 2 months behind on my Memory Planner documenting.
I found a few hours to work in my planner the other day…but I was reluctant. I didn’t really feel like going back to June/July to start…and I almost just put everything away.
I decided to forgive myself for falling so behind.
And then I decided to just “start where I am.”
I also decided to challenge myself to use a few supplies I hadn’t given much attention to lately!
Like this awesome stencil & the darling magnets it comes with!
And these two stacks of washi tape…aren’t they awesome?!
I started at the beginning of September, adding a few random photos and my list of books for the month (at least so far…).
I used the stencil to trace some larger “title” words and then filled them in with both marker & colored pencil.
Then I added a few strips of washi tape as accents.
My month-at-a-glance page is where I always add more random photos from the month.
These are usually a couple of my favorite pages…
…and a stenciled date.
I’m not sure I really like how I colored these letters in…but they’ll do.
Here’s my first full week in September.
I LOVE the way the washi really adds some bright, bold color. Especially since I don’t have many photos documented for this week.
I cut a length of “Stay Strong” washi into a banner shape here…and I think it makes the perfect little embellishment.
They really are the perfect size to add just a bit of emphasis to your journaling…and they’re super easy to use!
The little magnets that come in the pack along with the stencil are just perfect to use as little tabs for your month.
They can be removed and replaced throughout the month, and they make getting to the page you’re working on so easy!
Well, I did it!
I completed September so far…and I’m feeling really motivated!
Who knows…maybe I’ll even go back and work on the end of August…(smile).
I’d love to see how you’re using your Heidi Swapp washi tape, stencil & magnets in your documenting! Tag me @maggiemassey so I can see and so that we can all be inspired!
