Welcome crafting weekend warrior!!

Welcome crafting weekend warrior!!

First weekend in December, and therefore there are a LOT of
to-do’s on everyone’s LIST!! For me, we are in a bit of a re-organization of
winter stuff vs. summer stuff. Pulling out Holiday décor that hasn’t seen the
light of day in 3 years, and thinking…man, did I ever like this??? funny!

I can remember when I was little, all I wanted to do was
help to put the decorations on the Christmas tree… but my mom had a ‘fancy’
tree in the front room- only she could decorate it. it was all perfectly
coordinating with the wall paper and couch cusions…it was a flocked artificial
tree, and we had blue lights on it every year. She tied all the fancy bows, and
the ornaments were the balls w/ the silk thread wound around them- in gold and
blue. I even remember that she wrapped fake presents in wall paper remnants to
tie it all together.  And then
there was a ‘kids’ tree in the basement where we could hang our ornaments, and
help decorate.  – my kids just
can’t figure out why I am a Christmas tree control freak: it’s genetic!!

OK- so I have 2 really FUN little Christmas crafts that you
MUST check out.  both of these
ideas 1. Are awesome for your holiday décor  2. Easy enough that kids can do it! 3. Would be perfect
teacher and grandma/grandpa gifts 4. Would even be fun ‘office’ gifts or desk
enhancements… these are super versatile and user friendly!!

FIRST is a 25 day Countdown to Christmas.

There is already a countdown kit up at House of 3, but this
takes it a step further by providing 2 additional PDF printables that are sized to create a 7×10 stand up display and step by
step instructions.  If you want to
make this project you will need to purchase BOTH the Christmas countdown kit
AND the 25 days Countdown to Christmas project kit.

So, you’ll need to round up just a couple supplies: some
chipboard (or cardboard), some ribbon and glue!  Last night we had a party at my SIL’s home and I taught this
fun project and then everyone got a “Galvanic” facial treatment… it was so fun. (we put jingle bells where that fab blingy button is)

So the second project is the Decorative Candles that I told
you about last weekend. I have used Rhonna’s fabulous holiday brushes and made
them into 4 printable sheets that you can download HERE.  Tomorrow I will be posting a little HOW-TO
video so you can see exactly how to get these perfect! (I have finally mastered
it!)  but check it out… make sure
you have some candles and a heat tool-a hair dryer will not work.

Also, check out this 2010 Calendar kit… are you making
calendars for Christmas presents? That is another awesome holiday teacher
gift!! For sure you’ll get use out of this one all year.
