What To Do With Honey and Spice and a Mini Album
Beautiful new paper line collection is starting to hit the social media air waves.
Heidi’s Honey and Spice is a gorgeous collection of fallish, painterly, and classic patterns in richly saturated hues. The combination of blush, and rust, and burgundy and rose gold will be complimenting many stories here in the near future.
Utilizing a fantastic stamp set, plus several pattern papers, ephemera, and the pack of tags + Thickers I am crafting one of my most favorite papery story telling projects to craft: a mini album.
For this little mini album, I created a folder, if you will, to house the mini album inside. The cover tucks right under that large floral. Twine wraps around the holder to give it a bit more security. I included tags from the Tag Set, well, because I just love all the tags that add to the interactive vibe of this mini album.
Inside is tucked the mini album. It’s not large. Just enough pages to hold special to me photos.
The inside book is covered with the Harmony pattern paper. That sweet vined paper is layered with the Wallflower paper that I fussy cut the floral border out of. I love the little bit of contrast this adds to the soft pink of the book cover.
Inside the photos are kept mostly to be the focus of the pages. But stamps were used several times. Here I die cut more foliage and tucked under layers of paper punched tags, and ephemera camera and arrow.
I used a lot of pattern in this book. Frankly, it took such little effort for these pages to come together. All the patterns uniquely added to each page. They provided for each aspect of this story. In a most elegant way.
The pages are bound with the back-to-back method. Basically that means the back side of one pattern paper was adhered to the back side of another paper to create an easy binding.
The last page extends wider than the other pages. This is so that the title, made with Thickers can be seen immediately upon opening the holder of the mini album. I love having layers showing in a mini album. This was just one way to make that happen.
So you see what the problem with this mini album made with Honey and Spice has created for me? It’s just so very pretty. I want and need to create more. Honey and Spice invokes the need to celebrate all things warm and wonderful and at the same time to make pretty stuff.
